Connection Management
Gatwy gives you full control over how you organize, share, and access your connections.
Nested Folders
Organize connections in arbitrarily deep folder trees:
- Persistent expand/collapse state — the sidebar remembers which folders are open across page refreshes and sidebar toggles
- Drag & drop — reorder connections and folders freely
- Right-click menus — full CRUD (create, rename, move, delete) from the sidebar context menu
- Folder delete cascade — deleting a folder warns before recursively removing all connections inside
Connection Search
Instant search-as-you-type in the sidebar, matching connection name and host.
Connection Tags
Label connections with custom tags and filter the sidebar by tag.
Import / Export
Back up and restore your entire connection tree:
- Export as JSON from Settings → Import/Export
- Import JSON to restore or migrate to another Gatwy instance
Health Monitor
Live green/red reachability dots next to each connection in the sidebar — configurable (enable/disable from settings).
Connection Sharing
Share individual connections with specific people — not just all-or-nothing:
- Share with specific roles (e.g. only the DevOps role)
- Share with specific users
- Collapsible sharing panel in the connection editor
Supported Protocols per Connection
Each connection is created for a specific protocol:
| Protocol | Description |
|---|---|
| RDP | Windows Remote Desktop |
| SSH | Secure Shell terminal |
| VNC | Virtual Network Computing |
| Telnet | Legacy terminal |
| SMB | Windows file shares |
| SFTP | Secure file transfer |
| FTP | File Transfer Protocol |
